Avalon Nano 3S recovery

Full Stock Recovery And Factory Reset

Restore the complete ten-partition SPI-NAND image, then clear preserved user storage with the Nano's RESET button. This removes saved pools, Wi-Fi, custom screens, and tuning settings without erasing device calibration.

Browser Recovery

  1. Open the Flash OS page and start a public factory recovery session.
  2. A license key is optional. Enter the key used for this Nano only if you also want an eligible used HashPower OS flash credit returned.
  3. Put the Nano 3S in BOOT mode and select the K230 USB device when prompted.
  4. After the loader starts, select the Nano again when Continue Stock Flash appears.
  5. Keep power and USB connected until all ten partitions are written and completion is shown.
  6. Power the Nano off, disconnect USB, reinstall the Wi-Fi receiver, and boot normally. Allow several minutes for the first stock startup.
  7. Complete the 15-second RESET procedure below to clear preserved user settings.
  8. Return to the portal and confirm the restore to return the same-device flash credit.

This image contains the complete Nano 3S SPI-NAND boot and system layout, including both SPL copies. It was successfully recovery-flashed and boot-tested on Avalon Nano 3S hardware.

Official Windows Recovery

Use this path when the browser does not finish, the miner only appears in BOOT mode, or the first-stage bootloader also needs to be restored.

  1. Download and extract K230BurningTool for Windows v2.1.0.
  2. Download the recovery KDIMG above. If the file ends in .gz, extract it before selecting it in the tool.
  3. Power the Nano off and remove its Wi-Fi receiver. Connect the Nano to the PC with a known-good USB data cable.
  4. Hold the recessed BOOT button while powering the Nano on. Release it after the K230 USB Boot Device appears in Windows.
  5. Open K230BurningTool, select the KDIMG, enable every image part listed, and set the target medium to SPI NAND.
  6. Start the download and do not disconnect power or USB until the tool reports Downloading Completed.
  7. Power off, disconnect USB, reinstall the Wi-Fi receiver, and power the Nano on. Allow several minutes for the first stock boot.
  8. Complete the 15-second RESET procedure below to remove preserved user settings.

Complete Factory Reset

Firmware flashing intentionally preserves the Nano's data partition. Perform this step after the full recovery image boots to remove pools and custom screens.

  1. Confirm the full ten-partition recovery flash completed and the Nano has reached its normal powered-on state.
  2. With the Nano still powered on, press and hold only the recessed RESET/FUNC button for 15 seconds. Do not hold BOOT and do not disconnect power.
  3. The screen may remain lit while RESET is held. Release the button after the full 15 seconds; the Nano should restart automatically.
  4. Wait for startup and reconnect it as a new device. Saved Wi-Fi, pools, custom LCD screens, and user tuning settings should now be cleared.
Do not erase the complete data partition

The same partition also contains device-specific factory identity and hashrate calibration. The RESET routine removes user configuration while preserving those factory records.

If The Miner Still Does Not Boot

Check The Target

Confirm SPI NAND is selected. Nano 3S recovery must not be written as eMMC.

Check USB

Try a different data cable and a direct motherboard USB port without a hub.

Re-enter BOOT Mode

Disconnect power completely, hold BOOT, reconnect power, and select the K230 device again.

Keep Your License

A failed attempt does not move a device-locked firmware credit to another Nano.
